Main Line Riders.......Worldshaker...2009

Main Line Riders return with their second full length recording since their debut in 2007. This time around the band returns with a new attitude, a new vocalist and a new sound. With the opening notes of "It all Ends Tonight" I thought to myself that Bon Scott surely must have been resurrected and is now singing for Cliffy and his Main Line Riders. Indeed, "Worldshaker" is an album that is heavily influenced by Bon-era AC/DC....

Este disco fue realizado en 1973, este fue uno de los labunes que rompió el molde de "rock for Jesus". Que junto a Larry Norman, llevaban el Evangelio atra vez de la música. En realidad en este disco no se menciona mucho el nombre de Jesús o Dios pero en dos de sus canciones hablan claramente sobre mensajes cristianos. Por ejemplo You Are My Morning, Es una canción de iglesia.

Larry Norman - Copper Wires 1998

El álbum comienza con I Love You (escrita por Christ White de los Zombies, era el único hiy por The People। Po supuesto, si eres un fan de Larry un gran "así duh", sabras a que me refiero). Y es una gran versión en flauta (en el disco no se nombra al flautita). Aunque tengo entendido que este disco fue reeditado muchas veces.
El resto de las canciones ya son bastantes sólidas, y realmente la voz de Larry se hace notar। El sonido encaja muy bien con lo 60 y 70, a pesar de ser un disco de los 90. Su versión de Curtis Mayfield's People Get Ready es muy buena también, aunque suena un poco parecida a la de Beck / Stewart. En definitiva es un disco que suena bastante bien.

Larry Norman - Only Visiting This Planet 1972

Hay muy pocos discos en mi colección que son realmente excelentes álbumes. Éste es uno de ellos. Only Visiting This Planet, es el disco más influyente dsico de música cristiana. Larry estaba en la "cima" en 1972, y las letras son realmente asombroas. A diferencia de la música cristiana actual, Larry escribía contra el racismo, los prejuicios, las drogas, el sexo, la disolución de las relaciones, la alineación, y Vietnam. The Great American Novel es probablemente la mejor cacnión que el escribió, y aún quedo boquiabierto cada vez que la escucho. Mientras que Readers Digest es una respuesta a Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues. Igual que todos sus discos (o la mayoría) este tambien tienen su toque divertido.
